After leaving behind the dramatic conversion of the Philippian jailer and before the excitement of chapter 17, Luke tells us what happened the morning after the imprisonment of Paul and Silas.

In a few verses that could easily be passed over we learn an important message about how lesser magistrates can challenge those over them to rule as they should.
